Bengaluru Police have apprehended the wife of Atul Subhash in Gurgaon, along with her mother and brother, who were taken into custody in Allahabad, in connection with the suicide case.
Days after the tragic suicide of Atul Subhash, a resident of Bengaluru, who alleged harassment by his wife, the police in Bengaluru apprehended his wife, Nikita Singhania, along with her mother, Nisha, and brother, Anurag, on Saturday morning.
A senior police official reported on Sunday that Nikita was arrested in Gurugram, Haryana, while her mother and brother were taken into custody in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with charges of abetment of suicide. Another police representative confirmed that the accused individuals were presented in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
In the initial First Information Report (FIR), the police have charged the accused under sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (criminal act with a common intention). They are also alleged to have demanded Rs 3 crore to withdraw legal cases against Atul and Rs 30 lakh for visitation rights concerning their son.
The apprehensions occurred following the decision of the Bengaluru Police to request assistance from their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh to locate the suspects involved in the case. Reports indicate that Nisha and Anurag departed from their residence in Jaunpur late on Wednesday. Additionally, the Bengaluru Police affixed a notice to the wall of Nisha’s home in Jaunpur after discovering that the property was secured.
Atul Subhash, a resident of Munnekollal, was discovered deceased in his apartment on Monday. Subsequently, his brother Bikas Kumar lodged a complaint against Subhash’s wife Nikita, her mother Nisha, her brother Anurag, and her uncle Sushil Singhania.
The four individuals accused have sought anticipatory bail from the Allahabad High Court. The arrests were executed on Saturday, while the bail application remains pending for consideration.
A 34-year-old individual detailed his experiences in a 24-page letter and shared an 81-minute video in which he displayed a sign around his neck reading “Justice is Due,” as reported by the police. He further claimed that a family court judge in Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly biased in favor of his in-laws, had been implicated in corruption.
Subhash, originally from Uttar Pradesh, held the position of deputy general manager at an automobile company located in Bengaluru. In 2019, he married Nikita, a professional in the software industry, but the couple eventually parted ways. He is currently involved in nine legal cases encompassing various allegations, such as murder, dowry harassment, and unnatural sexual acts. Additionally, his parents have been implicated as co-accused in certain cases.
