Delhi-NCR Schools Closure: Schools in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad will be closed tomorrow????
Delhi-NCR:-
All educational institutions in the Delhi-NCR region, encompassing Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, will remain closed in observance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti. The respective state governments have declared a public holiday on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in honor of this occasion. Consequently, government offices, schools, autonomous organizations, and public enterprises will not operate on that day.
In accordance with the directive issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, schools in Noida have dispatched notifications to parents concerning the closure of educational institutions on Wednesday. One such notification from a Noida school stated, “We have received the attached communication from the State Government. As per this communication, the school will be required to remain closed tomorrow in observance of Ravidas Jayanti, which has been designated as a public holiday rather than a restricted holiday.” Additionally, in Delhi, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena affirmed this decision through an official circular.
Guru Ravidas Jayanti commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, a revered saint and poet from the 15th century linked to the Bhakti movement. His teachings focused on the principles of equality and social justice. This occasion is celebrated through religious processions, devotional music, and various community events, especially in northern Indian states such as Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
As of February 13, 2025, all schools in Delhi-NCR are operating normally, with no closures reported. In late January 2025, due to rising pollution levels, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) enforced Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), prompting schools to adopt a hybrid mode for students up to grade 5, allowing both physical and virtual classes.
However, as air quality improved, restrictions were lifted, and schools resumed regular in-person classes.
Currently, there are no directives indicating any school closures in the region.
